Fund Raising Activities

Now there seems to be no hope of a Charter Change before the scheduled 2007 elections.
And GMA's peers successfully blocked the impeachment attempt for the second time.

I can say with 75% certainty that there will be a 2007 National Election happening in May of next year.

And so the government embarked on mysterious projects this government has been doing over the past month. Did you ever get to notice how many beautification and reconstruction/repair projects there are in Metro Manila?

There are tunnel/underpass cleaners and painters, with the giant billboard saying: "Shaw/Ayala Tunnel Rehabilitation Project" and Gloria Arroyo's face on it.

I remember I was driving on November 2 and wondered why traffic was so bad as we approached Cubao. Turned out they closed the entire Cubao tunnel for a "rehabilitation" projects.

Now I see such rehabilitation projects in JP Rizal, EDSA-Ayala, not to mention seeing some in the Ortigas Area a few weeks back.

Will the white repainting really help manage traffic in the tunnels? And will new concrete partitions (in replacement of the pink fences) make it better in Ayala? I don't know.

But what I do know is that as they are going about these rehabilitation projects, driving to and from Makati has become and will continue to be more painful for motorists like me.
